(Valley Center, Calif.) – March, 2009 – Today Valley View Casino launched the first stage of its new back-of-the-house recycling program. The initial scope of the program includes collecting and recycling plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass, cardboard, office paper, ink toner cartridges, e-waste and non-ferrous metals utilized in all back-of-the-house operations.

"After much research and careful planning, our team is very excited to kickoff our new recycling program," said Michael Gorczynski, general manager of Valley View Casino. The entire Valley View Casino team of over 1,100 will be doing their part to ensure the program is a success. Recycling containers will be placed in all administrative offices and back-of-the-house facilities, with the environmental services and facilities departments taking an especially active role in collecting the recyclable goods daily.

"The enthusiasm of our team for the recycling program has been overwhelming," said Larry Chapp, director of purchasing at the casino and the chair of the committee that spearheaded the implementation of the recycling program. "Everyone is eager to do their part to pitch in for a common cause—the team is truly enjoying being ‘green'."
