Single Card Blackjack
Single Card Blackjack is easy to learn and exciting to play! With the information found here and the help of our friendly dealers, you'll be playing in no time!
- The object of the game is to get cards that add up to 21 or as close as possible without going over. If you go over "21" you "bust" and lose your bet.
- Kings, queens and jacks count as 10. Aces count as 1 or 11. All other cards are counted at their face value.
- Each player is dealt two cards face down. The hand that is played in front of the dealer represents the dealer's hand.
- Players must decide whether to "stand" (take no cards) or to "hit" (take one or more cards). You may hit until you feel that the total count of your hand is close to 21, then the dealer will draw.
- If a player is dealt an ace and a 10 valued card, they have a "Blackjack".
- If the dealer's hand totals 16 or less, the dealer must hit. If the hand totals a "hard" 17 or more, the dealer must "stand" (take no additional cards). The dealer will hit all "soft" 17's.
- If you tie the dealer you "push". You neither lose your bet nor gain any winnings.
- You may only "double down" on the original two cards. You double your bet and receive only ONE additional card.
- You may "split" any two cards of the same value into two separate hands. You must match your original bet and act on each hand separately. You cannot double after the split. You may only split aces once and you will receive only one card each.
- In the event that all cards are dealt out with remaining hands to act on, the dealer will reshuffle the cards in the discard rack and finish the hands remaining. The cards will be reshuffled at the conclusion of the round.
Don't worry if you don't feel like you've got the hang of it yet - our friendly dealers will be happy to show you the ropes. Come on out and play with us!
